““5-Star” review for a “5 Tool Player” In baseball, a “5 Tool Player” is one who excels in hitting, hitting for power, running, fielding and throwing. Such players are extremely rare and very special. In the church consulting world, Deb Rydman is a 5 Tool Player!!! She can discern, lead, teach, train, and equip others to excel. I HIGHLY recommend that YOU hire her to help you and your team move further, faster!
We brought Deb to CPC for a 4-month consulting gig to help us rebuild a bigger and better volunteer culture. She was engaging, disarming, and winsome. She not only helped train and equip our staff to recruit, encourage and leverage volunteers...she also quickly earned the trust of our leadership team, mobilized and energized staff members to break out of post-pandemic ruts, and offered robust (and accurate) constructive feedback on our systems and personnel. You will appreciate that Deb’s “church IQ” is sky-high, yet her EQ is too! She can think strategically, implement systemically, and engage relationally.
We already brought her back once to help with a massive volunteer sign-up weekend, and we have her booked for another volunteer “tune-up” this fall. 5 Star review, for a 5 Tool Player. Hire Deb Rydman...you won’t regret it. ”

“In 2020, at my request, we hired Deb Rydman to work as a consultant for our church and she worked with us off and on for about a year. She was hired to help restructure our volunteer programs, build a culture of intentional hospitality and assist us in making practical and logistical plans to run more efficiently as both an organization as well as as a leadership team. We renewed her contract three times during that year because her value and contributions only increased over time. Deb approached every project, goal and task with a unique style of professionalism that made those she led grow both in respect for her and a desire to be around her at the same time. Her leadership and passion is contagious which is vital for recruiting and training contagiously passionate volunteers. She is a self-starter who needs no hand holding but is also capable of being flexible and willing to bend and shift when necessary. Her skills and gifts are only matched by the quality of her character and the infectiousness of her personality. She is a delight to have around and a treasure trove of talent, strong work ethic and integrity.”
— Brittany Park, Remembrance Community Church
“Deb has a high get it factor and she is a truth teller but thoughtful in her delivery. She has a vibrant and contagious personality which makes working with her incredibly fun. I am grateful for the support and insight Deb has provided to us as a church staff but also to me personally. To be perfectly honest, I felt stuck. Deb helped me get out of my head and prioritize my needs and responsibilities. Working with her initially brought to the surface some insecurities but allowing myself to go there with her gave me the opportunity to truly evaluate what my priorities should be in this season and go from there. It is important to think big picture while being thoughtful in the details. As a church staff she helped us become more cohesive in how we plan and communicate, even giving us common verbiage to use across the board. Now the work continues, but Deb has helped me get started and feel confident again in my gifting/equipping.”
— Deana Dickerson, Community Presbyterian Church
““Working with Deb has been an incredible gift to our community! Her unique gifting for setting up systems and structures, coupled with her passion to create a culture of vibrancy and care with our volunteers helped us lay a foundation of health and effectiveness in our connections ministry. Out team has greatly benefited from her experience and support!” - John Thomas, Pastor Vintage Church LA”
“Deb Rydman is more than a consultant. We met first by phone, and I immediately felt like she was someone I could trust. She asked great questions to gain an understanding of our needs, and had insight that let me know she really understood and could help. Through phone calls, video chats, a visit to do some team training, and a second visit to observe us in action, she has given valuable advice and clear direction. Her assessment following the visit was spot on, and our implementation has proven to be steps in the right direction. Deb’s warmth and obvious care and love for people has made it a joy to work with her. I highly recommend her services to any organization seeking to improve processes and gain results.”

““I worked on a church staff with Deb for over 5 years where I had the privilege of witnessing her many gifts in action. She is a natural community builder with an eye and a heart for people looking for a place to belong. But that’s not what makes her so special. It’s not just that she builds community; she replicates community. She excels in identifying leaders, recognizing and nurturing their gifts, and empowering them to lead their own teams, their own communities. This is really what sets Deb apart. Her gifts are not limited to her immediate surroundings but are expansive, inspiring and empowering.””
— Josh Harrison, Teaching Pastor
““Deb Rydman is an engaging and effective speaker. Solid content, the product of diligent study, is carried by infectious enthusiasm. She is a natural teacher – bringing an audience or congregation along on her journey of discovery, enabling insights to be grasped without heavy-handedness. Her emotional intelligence couples with learned discernment to partner with what God is doing in the room in real time – enabling application almost without specific direction. Furthermore, Deb is a preacher – bringing those who have ears to hear to the point of decision, creating space for the work of the Spirit to draw in convicting love. I recommend her for your consideration. Deb will connect across a wide spectrum of ages and will communicate powerfully with both women and men. All this is built on the solid foundation of a character being formed in the likeness of Christ. She is a pastor to her teams, building up, supporting, encouraging them in their various ministries towards a common and embraced goal.” ”

““I have known Deb for over 10 years. I have taught school with her and known her as a friend. Deb is the kind of person everyone wants in their life. She brings connections and sunshine with her. When we taught together, I began to notice that the high school students sought her out because she was so real with them and spoke truth and love into their lives. She was asked to teach many subjects and take on projects that seemed unreasonable. But if there is one thing Deb is great at, it is pulling people together and building a team that makes things happen. She was able to give students a place to belong by seeing the potential in their lives and plugging them in to places that gave them purpose and meaning all while fulfilling her role of being in charge of an unreasonable project. I saw students blossom as they became leaders in the school and watched how Deb helped to develop them to not just be leaders but to search their hearts and see what God’s plans for their lives were. Deb is very relatable to everyone she meets because not only has she had so many unique life experiences, but because she genuinely listens to people and knows how to ask questions that really make people want to open up and share what is on their heart. This allows for deeper relationships and a better understanding of how to help them despite the messiness of day to day life. I have the upmost respect and love for Deb and her sincerity to follow Jesus and make a difference for Him in this world by faithfully following His leadership and His directive to ‘go and make disciples of all nations.’ “”
